Weiss named assistant golf professional at Verandah
04/22/10 David Weiss has been named assistant golf professional at Verandah, the 1,456-acre master-planned community located along a 1.75-mile stretch of the Orange River in Fort Myers.
Weiss assists with management of the golf pro shop and Verandah's two championship golf courses: Old Orange, designed by Bob Cupp, and Whispering Oak, designed by Jack Nicklaus and Jack Nicklaus II. He joined Bonita Bay Group in 2007 most recently serving as assistant golf professional at TwinEagles.
A native of New York, Weiss graduated from the University of Rochester with a Bachelor of Arts degree and started his career at Oak Hill Country Club, site of the 2013 PGA Championship. Weiss is a PGA pro with two decades in golf, including serving as head golf professional at Metacomet Country Club, a Donald J Ross signature 18-hole course and Mulligans Island Golf Academy in Rhode Island.
